iPad has become more affordable with the Apple slashing down the iPad 2 price worldwide. The gadget geeks would be happy to know that in the US the price of iPad 2 has been slashed by $100. There the base price of the iPad will start from $399 for the 16 GB model. The slashing of the iPad 2 price can be attributed to the launch of the new 4G ready third generation iPad. The new iPad was launched on Thursday, by the Apple CEO Tim Cook in San Francisco and is going to hit the stores worldwide next week across several countries.
The company said that it will continue with its selling of the older iPad 2 model, but the company did drop its price by about $100 in the US market. In India also, the prices were reduced by the company. The 16 GB base model of the iPad 2 with only Wi-Fi option will continue to sell in the Indian market with a tag price of Rs.24,500, down from the earlier price of Rs.29,500. The another iPad2 16 GB model with the Wi-Fi and 3G facility will sell at Rs.32900 inclusive of the VAT. The company spokesman said the price cut is for all the iPad 2 models across the world.
